This policy covers tamizhibooks.com and the TNPSC Prelims PYQs question bank operated by Tamizhi Books, 1328, 20th Main Road, 6th Ave, Anna Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600040. It explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how you can have it removed.
1. What we collect
You can browse the free question bank (2025 and 2026 papers) without an account. After the second paper or unit you open, we ask once for your name and mobile number — you can say "Not now" and carry on reading, and we will not ask again for a fortnight. Everything else we hold, we collect only when you sign in or buy the subscription.

Your answers. If you have a paid subscription, the questions you have attempted and whether you got them right are saved to your account, so they follow you when you move to another device. They are yours: they are in the copy of your data you can download, they go when you delete your account, and they are never used to rank, score or compare you against anyone else. Free readers' answers stay on their own device and are never sent to us.
We do not collect your postal address, exam registration number or any government ID, and we never ask you to upload a document.
2. Card and bank details
We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials. Payments are collected entirely by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We receive only the payment reference, the amount and whether it succeeded.
3. Who processes your data
- Google — sign-in. We receive your name and email from your Google account. We send Google nothing about how you use the question bank.
- Google Maps — the map of our office on the home page loads from Google, so opening that page lets Google see your IP address and browser, as any embedded map does. It carries no account or payment information, and the rest of the site works with the map blocked.
- Supabase — the database that holds your account, payment records and access dates.
- Razorpay — payment processing, governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of the site.
- Vercel Analytics — counts page views so we know which papers and pages are actually used. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you to other sites. It records the page, the referring site, the country and the device type. It does not tell us who you are, and we cannot use it to single you out.
Your devices. If you have a paid subscription, we keep one record for each browser or phone you read on: an id we generated for it, the browser-and-system family it reports (for example "Chrome on Android"), a name you can change, the day it was added and the day it was last used. You can see and remove these from your account page. We do not fingerprint your device, we do not store your IP address against it, and we cannot identify your hardware from it. A device you remove is kept for ninety days and then deleted.
We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose it only where the law requires it, or where it is needed to investigate fraud or abuse of the service.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage for keeping you signed in between visits, remembering your display preferences (light or dark theme, English or Tamil, text size), remembering which papers you have opened so we ask for your details once rather than repeatedly, the referral code from the link you arrived through, and a random id for this browser that ties your visits together after you have given us your number. Clearing your browser data ends that id, and a new one simply starts a fresh count. If you have a paid subscription we also keep, on each browser or phone you sign in on, a separate id we generated for that device — this is what keeps your subscription within the number of devices it covers, and it is not the same id as the one above. We run no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels. We do count page views, through Vercel Analytics described above — that counting is cookieless and stores nothing on your device.
5. How long we keep it
- Account details — your sign-in, your details form and your access dates are held until you delete your account, and go the moment you do.
- Payment records — retained for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently eight years, even if you delete your account. This is a legal obligation and we cannot waive it, because the tax invoice itself has to be kept. The record therefore keeps the invoice number, the date, the amount, the tax split and the name printed on the invoice — an invoice has to say who it was issued to. What goes is the connection to you: the record is unlinked from your account, and the copy of the payment gateway's transaction data attached to that record is erased.
- Payment provider messages — we keep a separate technical log of the messages Razorpay sends us about each payment, so that a payment can be traced or reconciled later. Those messages can include the email address and phone number you gave Razorpay at checkout. This log is not deleted when you delete your account, and is kept for the same period as the payment records above.
6. Taking a copy of your data, or deleting your account
Email tamizhibooks@gmail.com from your registered address and ask for either. We answer within 7 working days.
- A copy of your data — a file holding your sign-in email, everything you entered in the details form, every payment you have made, and your access dates.
- Deleting your account — removes your sign-in, your details form and your access. It cannot be undone, so we confirm with you before we do it.
Deleting your account is not a refund. Any remaining paid access ends with the account and no money is returned. If you want a refund, read the Refund & Cancellation policy and write to us first. And as section 5 says, your payment records themselves are not deleted: the law requires us to keep the tax invoice, name and all. What they lose is the link to your account.
7. Your rights
Email tamizhibooks@gmail.com from your registered address and you can ask us to:
- send you a copy of everything we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account and personal data (subject to the tax retention above).
We answer these within 7 working days.
8. Security
Traffic runs over HTTPS. Database access is restricted per user by row-level security, so one signed-in account cannot read another's records. Payment signatures from Razorpay are verified server-side before any access is granted.
9. Children
The service is aimed at candidates preparing for TNPSC examinations. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes are also announced on our Telegram channel.
